A simple soluble model of active-absorbing state transition
نویسنده
چکیده
We study a simple sandpile model of active-absorbing state transition in which a particle can hop out of a site only if the number of particles at that site is above a certain threshold. We show that the active phase has a product measure whereas nontrivial correlations are found numerically in the absorbing phase. It is argued that the system relaxes to the latter phase slower than an exponential. The critical behavior of this model is found to belong to a new universality class. ec 1 99 3 Critical behaviour of a surface reaction model with infinitely many absorbing states
In a recent letter [J. Phys. A 26, L801 (1993)], Yaldram et al studied the critical behaviour of a simple lattice gas model of the CO-NO catalytic reaction. The model exhibits a second order nonequilibrium phase transition from an active state into one out of infinitely many absorbing states. Estimates for the critical exponent β suggested that the model belongs to a new universality class. The...

In this paper, the vibration characteristics of multi-layer shell that internal and external surfaces with a layer of piezoelectric sensor and actuator is investigated. The backrest shell laminated with simple analytical method to evaluate and the results were compared with results obtained by other researchers. The numerical solution methods (GDQ) for shells with piezoelectric layers and plain...
متن کاملNovel phase transition in a model with absorbing states
We study a two-dimensional model which undergoes a transition between active and absorbing phase. The transition point in this model is of novel type: it combines some features of a continuous ((2+1)DP) and a discontinuous transition. Some arguments supported by Monte Carlo simulations prompted us to predict the exact location of the transition point. Typeset using REVTEX 1 Recently, nonequilib...
متن کاملNonuniversal exponents in sandpiles with stochastic par - ticle number transfer
– We study fixed density sandpiles in which the number of particles transferred to a neighbor on relaxing an active site is determined stochastically by a parameter p. Using an argument, the critical density at which an active-absorbing transition occurs is found exactly. We study the critical behavior numerically and find that the exponents associated with both static and time-dependent quanti...
متن کاملLETTER TO THE EDITOR Absorbing phase transition in a conserved lattice gas with random neighbor particle hopping
A conserved lattice gas with random neighbor hopping of active particles is introduced which exhibits a continuous phase transition from an active state to an absorbing non-active state. Since the randomness of the particle hopping breaks long range spatial correlations our model mimics the mean-field scaling behavior of the recently introduced new universality class of absorbing phase transiti...
